Community 1^st Development is a collaborative partnership between Lewis/Klein Properties and R & H Development Company focusing on urban residential development, neighborhood rehabilitation and commercial redevelopment. Lewis/Klein Properties and R & H Development Company combined have more than 50 years of real estate experience, having built, developed, and managed more than 3,000 residential units, a million square feet of industrial and high tech buildings, and many commercial and retail properties throughout Michigan.

OUR MISSION

Community 1^st Development’s mission is affordable and sustainable home ownership – one homeowner and one city block at a time.  To achieve this mission, the Community 1^st Development focus is to rebuild and reestablish existing urban neighborhoods by offering affordable and sustainable home ownership opportunities to individuals who have been unable to purchase a home because they do not have the required down payment or have credit challenges. Community 1^st works in collaboration with HUD/MSHDA certified financial literacy and home counseling agencies that provide home buyer workshops, classes and credit repair services to our clients. These home buyer programs not only qualify our clients for down payment assistance, they also educate each new homeowner so they can sustain ownership of their new home throughout the term of their mortgage.
